The Self-Employed Persons Program applies to those who have the intention and the ability to become self-employed in Canada.

Who can Apply?

Potential applicants must meet one of three criteria:

  1. Relevant Experience - Participation at a world class level in cultural activities and athletics
  2. Farm management experience
  3. Self-Employment in Cultural activities or athletics

In addition to the above mentioned criteria, potential applicants are also assessed through the following Selection Criteria: (a) experience (b) education (c) age (d) language ability and (e) adaptability. Applicants must obtain a passing mark of at least 35 points on Selection Grid.
